Palmpring was founded in South Korea in 1996 by Dae-seob Kim, an outdoorsman and early believer in green living. Long before “eco-friendly” became mainstream, he was convinced that sustainable products would shape the future.
While working at a fabric company producing needle-punched coir pads used to cover metal springs in traditional mattresses, he had a breakthrough idea: replace the metal springs entirely with palm coir (coconut fiber) to create an all-natural mattress. He then developed a method of coating the coir with organic latex—derived from rubber trees—to give the coir a spring-like, responsive feel.
Because coir alone can feel too firm for most sleepers, he added a layer of organic latex for cushioning and pressure relief. This innovation evolved into Palmpring’s signature “sandwich style” construction—alternating layers of coir and latex for balanced support, comfort, and airflow.
Palmpring mattresses have been tested for pressure performance, harmful substances, flammability, and durability. For more than two decades, Palmpring has helped thousands of customers enjoy a cleaner, healthier, and more blissful night’s sleep.
